Under the theme “Sustainable Forests for Humanity.”

Associations and youth groups jointly celebrate the 13th anniversary of International Forest Day under the theme “Sustainable Forests for Humanity” at Freedom Park with 200 participants. This event lasts ten days, from March 12 to 21, 2024, with three aims:
Objectives of the program include:
1. Celebrate International Forest Day 2024 and promote the value of forest protection and conservation efforts.
2. Promote participants’ rights for humanity and sustainably conserve the forest.
3. Update the concern from CSOs and impacted communities in natural resources protection.
As a result, the event went smoothly. It actively involved participants, also the statements from representatives of civil society organizations, representatives of Prey Lang, Prey Preah Rokar, Champen and community representatives from protected areas from other areas, expressing their grave concern about forest loss. They also requested to the government to increase further cooperation on the protection of natural resources, forests and the environment, and to open up space for local communities to participate in patrols without restrictions. There will also be performances on deforestation and a public painting competition.
